"If he's open, shoot it. If not, pass it,'' Brown said laughing. "Our offense is not complex at all. I was talking to him on the phone and he said, 'Yeah, we just played you guys so I got a good feel for what you do.' I said, 'Yeah, you probably do. What you went over in your scouting report is all we do.'' - Mike Brown to Mary Schmitt Boyer of The Plain Dealer about the accusition of Spencer Hawes.
Gentlemen. This is not good.
Mike Brown has never been known to excel in situations that require him to be anything less than competent on offense. The majority of his "plays" focus on setting pick and rolls at the top of the key for a primary ball handler i.e Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters, Jarret Jack, and either passing the ball to a rolling big or shooting a contested long 2.
The fact that Spencer Hawes sat down and in, no less than a day figured out our offensive ''system'' is not what's damning here. What's infuriating to me is that Mike Brown knows his system is garbage, and yet refuses to do anything about it.
What do you guys think? I just woke up and have been sicker than all hell, so I'm not big on writing out a huge article right now. Just let me know in the comments. I won't throw up on you. Promise.
