The Forest through the Trees

Hey Ya'll! I noticed something today, and being a pretty sharp bunch on this blog I imagine a number of you guys may have too. It's been a tough year, no doubt about it. The Bynum disaster, the playoffs are inching out of reach (and some folks thought we should send our assets out at the deadline to ensure tanking), and of course Jarrett Jack's existence (he was good tonight though!). However, I invite you to take a step back and look at something with me:

Nov 4-12 (.250)

Dec 5-9 (.357)

Jan 6-9 (.400)

Feb 7-6 (?) (no worse than .500)

By George it's progress! Now I'm not claiming to be an expert at advanced statistics, obviously A LOT goes into these numbers that are not represented by just Ws and Ls. However, growth is ultimately judged by wins. And we are a win on Friday away from an above .500 month for the first time in what seems like decades (did that happen last year, sure doesn't seem like it).

So there it is folks. The Forest through the Trees. Through all of the ups and downs, Injury plagued Febs, Bennett struggles, Mike Brown hate, locker room brawls and Windhorst articles about Kyries inevitable (and literally unprecedented) departure, every month this team has gotten better in the only way that actually matters. Ws.

Sure, we got a pretty tough March ahead of us. But for now, this makes me smile. Hope it does for you too.
