So now that the offseason is nearing we start to wonder what will be best for our team going forward. Do we overpay to keep Deng? Hawes? Do we chase Lebron? Who do we draft? What does our forward rotation look like and who will start?
Assuming Hawes and Deng both walk in search of greener pastures and we actively engage in the FA market our roster could look something like this:
Anthony Bennett // Tristan Thompson
I think this team seriously lacks some above the rim style athleticism a la Gordon. This will break down defenses and open up easy assist opportunities for our guards. If Gordon can be anything like a SF version of Blake and Bennett comes back ready to go, I think this lineup could do damage. Ideally Monroe and Bennet would develop a nice inside-outside game, with AB stretching the floor. Our bench would have freak chemistry from this year and freak vet presence with Jack and Andy. Not to mention freak CJ shooting and TT hustling.
Another option could be to sign Trevor Ariza ( as a lot of you have heard me mention) and our starters could look like this
Kyrie Irving/ Dion Waiters/ Trevor Ariza/ Anthony Bennet/ Greg Monroe.
In this case we could draft someone like Rodney Hood or Doug McDermott to play SF in the 2nd unit.
Idk im just speculating, both of these would be dream scenarios for this off season for me, what do you guys think and which line up would you guys prefer?
Of course I also wouldn't mind keeping Hawes, but then we super better draft an athlete like Gordon
