3 Moves to Homecourt?

My ideal plan for next season- Draft Wiggins, trade for Asik and Lin, resign Hawes. Profit.

Full disclosure- I don’t know the details of how NBA trades work but this went through on the trade machine so I’m going with it.

Cavs trade our beloved Wild Thing and Gee for Asik and Lin. Asik provides the rim protection we need and Lin is a serviceable backup PG/SG. I’d rather see him at SG so Delly can get his minutes.

Starters:

Kyrie

Lin

Wiggins

Bennett

Asik

This lineup provides quickness at the top and length 3-5. AB and Wiggins are long enough they should disrupt passing lanes. Offense would rely heavily on an AB/KI pick and pop with Lin available to shoot and Wiggins cutting. Omer eats rebounds and back taps to Lin/KI. I’m in the camp that AB is a monster this season and not a sad mopey carebear.

Backups:

Delly/Jack

Dion

Sergey/Mas Fresco

TT

Steve Hawes/TZ

This lineup is only as strong as Delly, Dion, and TT’s defense. Delly and Dion need to be tenacious, if they get beat off the dribble TT gets hung out to dry and this lineup fails. But IF they keep the guards in front of them and TT rebounds like a beast it can create an exciting offense. Dion can use his first step advantage to drive and kick to 3 reasonable deep shooters- yep, I’m including Delly. He can also lob it to TT if the defender cheats too soon. The defense in this lineup scares me but there’s so much offense. Big TZ can also come in and help sure up the defense for a 15 hard minutes a game when necessary. Sergey, Dion, and Delly can all bring the ball up so the defense would see multiple looks, could lead to confusion opportunities.

Does this team compete for home court round 1? Where are the holes? Which teams would rip these lineups apart? Break down and tear it up.
