For the second installment of Cavaliers trade scenarios I will be looking at possible young centers in the NBA today that the Cavs could trade for if Joel Embiid is not cleared by Clevelands medical staff.
Why I would make this trade: I know this might be unpopular, but I believe Greg Monroe is extremely underrated, at just 24 yrs old, Monroe has tallied three consecutive seasons averaging 15 or more PPG and 9 or more RPG despite only playing 33 MPG or less in those seasons. He's one of the best young All-Around centers in the game, he can pass from the post, knock down mid range jumpers, finish at the rim, he's a good rebounder, and he defends. With as much upside as he has, he could be a cornerstone for the Cavs.
Why I would make this trade: I think most of us would make this trade, but, the problem would be convincing toronto to give up their young center for Andy and TT. So while this is unlikely to happen, I believe that the Raptors would consider(wishful thinking). If only Cleveland would have took Jonas when they had the chance.
Why I would make this trade: Once again, if management doesn't believe Kyrie and Dion can coexist, then I would be on board with a trade like this, Boogie Cousins and Kyrie Irving on a well coached offense would make cleveland one of the elite offensive teams in the NBA. If this is an option for GM David Griffin, It might be too good to pass up.
