Supposedly Utah is offering number 5, number 23 Burks, and Favors for Jack and number 1. That sounds like we are fleecing them. 2 young starters avg. about 14 ppg, get rid of Jack, and get a high draft. But, no so fast.
Burks is an eventual journeyman who cannot shoot 3's and Favors is a solid player. Regular players can be had by the Cavs in free agency. We cannot land superstars via free agency. Only by the draft. This is our one chance to get a difference maker. A rookie is cheap and we control them along time. Take our chances on Wiggins. Do not trade this pick. Last year was a different story. If Wiggins doesn't pan out guys like Favors and Burks can always be had in free agency. Favors and Burks can help us make the playoffs. But, they are enough difference makers to bring home a title. If Wiggins turns out to be the next Kobe, and you trade away the pick, get your resume ready.
Here is a thought Thompson, Waiters, and Jack for Favors.
