All of the talking experts are saying Parker is more NBA ready. Based on what? This is the NBA. The greatest basketball players in the world. How many can't miss prospects flame out in college. How many can't miss prospects flame out in the pros. ie Evan Turner, Marvin Williams, OJ Mayo...... the list goes on and on. Who had Carter Williams as an NBA ready prospect last year? No one and I repeat no one can project the success of an athlete at the next level. Some guys have never been challenged before they get to college and they cannot adapt. Some guys are never challenged until they go pro and they cannot adapt. The speed and athleticism of the NBA is second to none. How do we know Parker is a sure fire 20ppg scorer and rookie of the year. You never know how a players college game translates to the NBA. Supposedly Parker helps the Cavs reach the playoffs next year. Again, based on what? It is not like we are one player from a title (Indiana). So, we make the playoffs next year as an 8th seed and win 42 games. What does that get us a cookie or a prize in cereal box? We have been patient thus far. Do not rush the process. Take the prospect who you feel will make the most impact in 3 or 4 years. The guys Parker played against in college are not on NBA rosters. The competition is much more fierce. From everything I have read Parker is a good kid from a good family. I wish him the best. But, there are no guarantees in this draft.
