I have been thinking for days about possible trade scenarios involving both current players on our roster and the #1 pick. Here are a few:
Why I would make this trade: First of all, I don't believe Ben McLemore is better than Dion Waiters nor do I not like Waiters, but I personally just love this fit. The Cavs get a great 3 pt. shooter with a ton of upside to pair with Irving in the backcourt, and the Kings get a great combo guard to build around along with DeMarcus Cousins. It should be noted that I only agree with this if management truly doesn't believe Kyrie and Dion can coexist.
Why I would make this trade: If Philly falls in love with Kansas C Joel Embiid, this would be an Ideal scenario. The Cavs get a raw athletic rim protecting center in Nerlens Noel and still have a chance to get Wiggins or Parker which effectively fills two holes in the Cavs starting lineup.
Trade scenario #3: PF Tristan Thompson, #1 overall pick and SG Dion Waiters to Milwaukee for SF/SG Giannis Antetokounmpo, #2 overall pick and C Larry Sanders
Why I would make this trade: This is my personal favorite. Cleveland gets the unbelievable potential of SF/SG Giannis Antetokounmpo and their rim protector in C Larry Sanders while still getting one of the three elite prospects in the draft.
