I created a fanpost asking for suggestions on how the Cavs could gain the ability to take in more salary because most of your cap is Lebron and lottery picks. I don't want to lose any of our recent lottery picks. We have future first round pick to give up but we would need outgoing salary along with them to get anyone back for bench depth and front court shot blocking.

No one responded. Griffin did a move in the same vein I was wondering about in giving up Carrick Felix and a future 2nd for 3.3 million in non-guaranteed return contracts with Utah. They took back more money than they sent out technically.
If the Cavs trade for a first round pick entering their 4th year ( Kyrie's class ) they can be given an early extension and traded at mid season. Somebody like Kory Joseph, Enes Kanter, Shumpert etc.
If the receiving team (Cavs) give him an early extension of let's say 12 million for one year with only 2 million guaranteed he could be traded with a poison pill provision and be traded for more than they make this year.
Is that legal CBA wise?
