Miami's Dilemma

I've been going over Miami's salary cap situation and I found it financially impossible for Miami to improve their roster. Even with the big three opting out Miami is no better off. Lets look at the numbers.

LeBron wants a max contract $20.7 million

Bosh wants $17.0 million

Wade wants $12.0 million

That's 3 player at $49.7 million

Draft pick hold $ 1.0 million

Cole's salary $ 2.2 million

Team hold $ 5.6 million

Total salaries $ 58.5 million

Salary cap $ 63.5 million

Available cash $ 5.0 million

There is no way they can attract a top notch free agent with that amount. The numbers don't lie, but the bigger problem is, there really isn't any top notch free agents available. If I can figure this out the big three ought to be able to see it too.

There may be some that will prostitute themselves for a ring (big three) but they wont be good enough to make a difference. I really believe this is the end of the big three era and it couldn't happen to a better team.
