This is perhaps getting ahead of the current Cavs situation, but here we go...
Assume the Cavs enter the 2015 offseason with Irving-Wiggins-LBJ-TT-Zeller as starters. The clear holes in the roster are PF and C. The Cavs will be over the cap at that point, so siging Tier 1 or 2 free agents outright is out of the question. However, we just gained a very unique asset in Brendan Haywood's contract. It essentially enables us to offset 10.5 million in salary for free in a trade, as Haywood can be immediately cut by the receiving team for $0.
So what should we use Haywood's unique contract on?
Thoughts? The possibilities are endless.
