So, I was on Twitter today and I found a tweet that Dion Waiters retweeted, unfortunately, he removed it so I can't show it, but the tweet basically said that he should be traded to Philly, which, to me, it seems like he is opened to being traded. Although he removed it and said that he loves Cleveland and that the Cavaliers have the best fan base in the league, I still have the feeling that he would prefer to play somewhere else..
I like Dion, but he isn't a good fit, and (seemingly) is fine with playing elsewhere. So, why not trade him for someone who fits well with our roster? Dion will become much more expendable if the Cavs sign LeBron and if Dion is fine with being traded to Philly, then what about this trade:
Cavs get: C Nerlens Noel, 2016 1st Rd Pick 76ers get: SG Dion Waiters
I know that Noel hasn't played a game in the NBA yet, but he will likely bring what this Cavaliers team has lacked for a long time: rim protection and it may make the Cavs sound more attractive to LeBron because he hasn't had an elite rim protector since Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
If we make this trade and sign LeBron, we would have a lineup that looks like this:
PG: Kyrie Irving / Jarrett Jack / Matthew Dellavedova
SG: Andrew Wiggins / Jarrett Jack / Sergey Karasev
SF: LeBron James / Andrew Wiggins / Carrick Felix
PF: Tristan Thompson / Anthony Bennett / LeBron James
C: Nerlens Noel / Anderson Varejao / Tristan Thompson
What do you think?
