Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt has been named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for March. Blatt, Cleveland's first-year head coach, guided the Cavaliers to an 11-4 record in March as the Cavaliers rose to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference and first place in the Central Division. Blatt's award was announced in a tweet and in a subsequent press release.

Blatt is the fifth Cavs coach ever to win the award, following George Karl, Lenny Wilkens, Mike Fratello and Mike Brown as Cavs coaches to win the award. Blatt's award comes on the same day the ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported on Bill Simmons' "B.S. Report" podcast that LeBron James actually calls the Cavs' plays.
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was named Coach of the Year for the Western Conference.
