In the Cleveland Cavaliers’ regular season final against the Toronto Raptors, the team will rest LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Cavs coach Tyronn Lue updated the status of his star players during his pregame media availability.
Tristan Thompson, though, will play after missing the team’s last four games with a thumb sprain. According to Cavs GM David Griffin, Thompson will wear a brace.
This isn’t too much of a surprise. LeBron was already expected to sit and the Cavs have seem inclined to rest their stars since losing two games against the Hawks over the weekend. It also means that the Cavs are likely to not land to the No. 1 seed in the East. To win the top seed, Cleveland needed to win and the Boston Celtics to lose. Boston is not resting their best players for their game against the Milwaukee Bucks, who are resting their best players.
For Toronto, DeMar DeRoza and Serge Ibaka will not play.
