The Cavs will host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night in their continued defense of the NBA title, but it won’t be the only thing worth taking part in for the Cavs fans that make the trek to Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavs, for the third straight season, will be collecting baby items for the Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center.
According to the Cavs, the Center is in particular need of the following items:
· Baby bottles and sippy cups
· Formula (Similac)
· Teethers and pacifiers
· New toys
· New clothing
· Diapers (sizes 3-6) and pull-ups
· Crib sheets and sleep sacks
In addition, gift cards are also helpful, as they allow DVCAC to purchase supplies as needed. So gift cards to stores such as Target, WalMart, Giant Eagle, as well as Visa gift cards, are also welcomed.
On top of this, purchases at the Cavs gift shop will come with the opportunity to round up to the full dollar, with the change going to the Center. You’ll also be able to buy Cavs baby gear to donate. Proceeds from the game’s 50/50 raffle will also go to the Center.
Aside from feeling good about yourself, the Cavs are offering some perks to go along with each donation:
Fans who donate at the game will eligible to win an autographed Cavs woodgrain basketball signed by one of the following players: Kyle Korver, Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith and Deron Williams. Participating fans will receive one raffle ticket per item donated and the winners will be announced after halftime.
Good on the Cavs for doing this, and if you have the means, please consider being a part of the drive on Friday night.
