The Malice at the Palace: An Oral History

One of the best pieces I've read all year long from Grantland's Johnathan Abrams

Kyrie and his father

3

This is a really nice story from Jackie MacMullan at ESPN.com about Kyrie Iriving's childhood and his family, specifically his relationship with his father. His father was a former basketball player who saw Kyrie's potential at a young age. The story also details how Kyrie's father, who is a financial broker, worked in the World Trade Center but changed jobs just a few weeks before 9/11. He still worked nearby, though, and was in the lobby of the WTC during the attacks. She writes about his experiences that day, trying to leave the city and get to his children at school. It's a very moving story.

Kyrie Irving is in another relatively hilarious commercial, this time for Pepsi MAX.

Anderson Varejao has a fractured wrist

Well this sucks. [Ed. Note: I guess this is my fault I never had an actual post about this. I figured people had heard and I've mentioned it a few times. Regardless, FP'd just so it's out there in the open.]

Insider Only. This is a refreshing list and yes, Kyrie does rank in the top ten. It's very worth checking out if you are able. Spoiler alert: there is some backup to my screams of Love > Griffin. The rest of you will see it soon enough!

Analyzing the Anomalous: Anderson Varejao vs. Boston

I was sent this link by blogger Michael Pina tonight. In his Shaky Ankles blog he takes a look at some interesting NBA happenings. I just looked over his site and he's got a wide knowledge of the league so here are his thoughts on Varejao last night. It's a very intelligent read.
