The biggest homegame of the season, so far, takes place tonight between the Cavaliers and the Lakers. While this isn't as prominent as Christmas Day, the fact that the game will take center stage on TNT lends itself to a must-see event for NBA fans.
Sure, the Cavaliers have to be concerned about playing without Mo Williams. Every contender - except Atlanta perhaps - has spent time this season without a major piece. The Lakers have lost Pau Gasol two different occasions, and Kobe Bryant has been dinged up as well.
Delonte West will have to take care of the basketball and be sure to get the offense in rhythm. It will be imperative that LeBron not try and do too much to over-compensate for the loss of Williams and let the game come to him.
The loss of Williams will hurt, but I think the Cavaliers are one of the deepest teams in basketball. Tonight they get to prove it.
THREE in the KEY
- This is the 14th time that LeBron James will face the Lakers - he is 7-6 so far.
- The Lakers own the NBA's best point differential at 7.0; The Cavs are 2nd at 6.5
- The Cavaliers are 40-9 against the Western Conference since the beginning of last season, best in the NBA.
