Fear the Links - 2/16/10; Is today the day for Amare?

Fearthelinks2_medium

Good Morning Cavaliers Nation!  The trade rumors continue to grow and the trade deadline is quickly approaching.  Could today be the day something breaks?  Some seem to think so.  The fact that Amare Stoudemire is tweeting about his ability to play with Shaq is an indication, to some, that Amare - and the Suns - are being distracted by all the trade talk.  The Suns return to action tonight in Memphis.  Could they want the distraction over and done with before they return to the court??  We'll see!

Nowadays, this is how Shaq rolls. Cramming his 7-foot-1, 325-plus pounds into a four-wheeled office chair straining at its screws, Shaquille O'Neal raises those size 23 sneakers and slides across the Cavaliers practice court in Independence, Ohio, like a kid sledding down a snowy hill.

Which NBA team is on the move? - chicagotribune.com
The Cavaliers learned last May that not even LeBron James can win an NBA title without a decent supporting cast. They won't make the same mistake this time around, not with King James able to opt out of his contract and become a free agent once the season ends.

Stoudemire does not want to come to Cleveland - Morning Journal/News-Herald
Cavs guard Mo Williams might be back soon. He sprained his left shoulder in the Toronto game on Jan. 19. His rehabilitation is going well and some think he’ll return to action in the next week or so. "(I) just got done with a great rehab," Williams said on his Twitter account. "(I’m) so ready to get back."

Wilbon: Lakers, Cavs on a collision course - Washington Post- nbcsports.msnbc.com
It's difficult to imagine the two best teams in basketball being any more clearly identifiable at the all-star break than they are right now. We can try to make a case, since it would make a better story between now and April, for the Denver Nuggets in the West, for the Orlando Magic or Atlanta Hawks in the East, maybe even the Boston Celtics if all the old codgers stay healthy or if they swindle some club just before the trade deadline.

LeBron deserves great teammates more than once per year - NBA - CBSSports.com Basketball
Once a year we get to see it. But only once a year. It's not enough to sustain me, but it'll have to do, because this is all there is. It's the NBA All-Star Game, and this is what it looks like when LeBron James plays with great teammates.
