Looks like the Cavaliers will have to go back to the drawing board. Less the 24-hours after signing PG Kyle Lowry to an offer-sheet, the Houston Rockets appear to be preparing to match the offer-sheet, making Lowry a member of the Houston Rockets for the next 3-4 years.
This, from Rockets' General Manager Daryl Morey, via Twitter -
Congratulations to Kyle Lowry on signing his new deal. We plan to match the agreement and we are excited he will be returning to the Rockets
This comes as no surprise since the Cavaliers actually tried to get Houston to do a sign-and-trade for Lowry before signing him to the offer sheet. In the end, the Cavaliers did nothing but set Lowry's value, allowing Lowry to go back to Houston with a deal he is happy about.
