Byron Scott Announces Cleveland Cavaliers Opening Night Starting Lineup Against Wizards

Byron Scott had given beat reporters a hard time over the past couple weeks with regards to the starting lineup. On Monday afternoon, he finally revealed who would be taking the floor for the Cavaliers against the Wizards on October 30th.

Many people have been wondering about the Cavaliers' starting lineup for Opening Night against the Washington Wizards on October 30th. Who would join Kyrie Irving and Anderson Varejao? Will Dion Waiters finally start a game? C.J. Miles or Alonzo Gee?

Monday afternoon, Byron Scott finally answered those questions when he announced the starting lineup.

PG: Kyrie Irving

SG: Dion Waiters

SF: Alonzo Gee

PF: Tristan Thompson

C: Anderson Varejao

This makes the most sense, as long as Byron makes sure to manage the subs effectively. I have said before that we can't go too long without Kyrie or Dion and Tristan or Andy on the floor at a time. That will be something that I am watching closely to start the season. Bringing C.J. Miles off the bench is a pretty smart idea as he will provide some scoring for the second unit and Gee's athleticism will be best utilized by Kyrie in the open court.

Byron has said in the past that he likes to give starting lineups 10-15 games before he changes them. We'll see if he does the same thing this year, but as for now, these are your starters.
