Jason Miller

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards played the first game of the 2012-13 NBA season on Tuesday night. Kyrie Irving dropped a cool 29 points to lead the Cavs to a 94-84 victory. Anderson Varejao was an absolute monster, scoring 9 points, dishing out 9 assists, and grabbing an unreal 23 rebounds (12 offensive!!).

Tristan Thompson managed to notch a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and added 5 assists as well. Dion Waiters had a great NBA debut, scoring 17 points on 6 of 14 shooting and grabbing a clutch rebound in the waning minutes of the ball game.

The Cavs held the Wizards to just 35% shooting from the field, so that will make Byron Scott happy. The Cavs did, however, commit 21 turnovers, so that will make Byron Scott sad.
