As far as I know, tickets are no longer available, so I hope you got them ahead of time. The Cavaliers will face off against their heated rivals, the Cavaliers, today at Quicken Loans Arena. The doors open at 4 PM and the scrimmage is slated to start at 5 PM. I'm not 100% sure if there will be an online stream of the scrimmage, but there was last year. I'll be sure to put that up for you guys once we know if it exists or not. There will also be the first game thread of the season later today. Bloggers are still in preseason form as well, so I'll get that up eventually.
Byron Scott made a few comments yesterday about the scrimmage. He was sure to emphasize that the teams and lineups used in the scrimmage don't really mean anything. So don't try to read into the way he sets it up. He just wants to make the game as competitive as possible. Furthermore, he said that Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters will likely be separated. This makes sense as they are probably the two most dynamic scoring options on the Cavs. It'd be dumb to put them both of the same team and it should be cool to see them try to guard one another.
I strongly recommend watching the training camp interview videos that Cavs.com has been putting up. Unfortunately, they don't let me embed them into stories, so you'll have to follow the link to see them. Fred McLeod does a nice job and we get a lot of good information from Coach Scott and the players.
Feel free to use this comment section to coordinate with other readers/writers that may be attending the scrimmage today. I have a feeling that the Cavs are going to win this one.
