Another NBA rumor going around is that Josh Smith has requested a trade from the Atlanta Hawks. If that is the case, the Cavaliers seem to be interested in acquiring the 26-year old forward. While the trade sounds quite unrealistic to me, it's still my job to present it to you guys and see what you think.

Bob Finnan of the News-Herald mentioned that the Cavaliers could be trying to swing a deal for both Smith and Marvin Williams. In this trade, Cleveland could give up Ramon Sessions and Antawn Jamison for the two players. The Hawks have expressed previous interest in Sessions and Jamison's $15 million contract is somewhat appealing to a rebuilding team trying to cut costs.

Here's what Finnan wrote earlier on Sunday. Feel free to dismiss it as a rumor, but if it is actually a possibility, the Cavaliers would be foolish to pass up a player as talented as Smith.

Rumors say the Cavs continue to have an open dialogue with the Atlanta Hawks concerning small forward Marvin Williams. That rumor won't go away. One media report said forward Josh Smith's name has been added to those discussions. Some have suggested sending Jamison and Sessions to the Hawks for Williams and Smith. The Cavs would probably do that.
