Deep breath.
Last night is over. History. It happened, it can never be undone, but it's over. Today is a new day, tonight is a new game, in a different city, against a different team. Is it a better team than last night? Yes. While the Sixers have been playing like hot garbage of late, they're still a dangerous team that has had the Cavaliers number all season. That said, Kyrie Irving is back, so he should at least keep it close.
Regardless, I'm still a bit exhausted from last night's game. I've taken some precautions to avoid a repeat of the emotional breakdown that occurred 24 short hours ago. I've taken a nice, long, leisurely walk around the block, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. I'm nursing a cup of peppermint tea to soothe my torn-up throat. There's a hot, fresh Hawaiian pizza with jalapeños (TREAT YO SELF) on it's way to my apartment as I type. Regardless of how bad tonight's game is, my apartment is a happy place.
The theme of tonight is Zen. Calm. I'm like a stone, nothing can break me. Not veteran leadership, not Omri Casspi going 0-10, nothing. I will remain calm. As such, to aid in that goal, I will reflect all my thoughts on this game in haiku form.
Never read an angry haiku, right?
First Quarter
Decent basketball?
Kyrie Irving has returned,
Bench still terrible.
***
Philly is hurting.
Tumbling down the East standings.
Time to fear the deer?
Second Quarter
My pizza arrives.
Walk away for just a bit.
Only down by five.
***
Philly looks real bad.
Barely beating the Cavs.
Time to blow it up?
Third Quarter
Philly pulls away.
Cavs bench really cannot score.
Zen, Angelo. Calm.
***
Things are looking grim.
Who can save the day for us?
Unleash the Gody!
Fourth Quarter
Welp, that didn't work.
Gody was not the answer.
The streak continues.
***
Five games left this year.
Will our heroes win again?
Bring on Carmelo.
