I'm torn.
On the one hand, I hate being the guy to root for his team to lose, especially to a team like the Wizards. I have a hard time calling myself a fan and, in the same breathe, then cursing a win. I mean, it's the Wizards. They're awful. There's that old rivalry. I have a very hard time bring myself to that point.
On the other hand, I don't want the Cavs to win tonight. Two more losses and they have a very good chance at getting the third pick in the upcoming NBA draft. Two more wins and they can drop to the eighth pick. That's the difference between being a legitimate contender and the Atlanta Hawks. It's huge.
And, at this point in the season, it's enough for me to do something I didn't think I could do and hope the Cavs lose. It's hard, but dammit, it means so much right now. I can't be alone, right? Let's see what Twitter thinks.
Pre-Game: @JasonLloydABJ
NOOOOOOOOOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! HE HAS A FLU! IT'S FATE! SIT THE KID DOWN!
First Quarter: @WayneEmbrysKids
He's not talking about defense, you guys. After 12, the Cavs are winning 27-21.The flu seems to be having somewhat of an impact on Kyrie's game, as he's only got five points, one rebound and one assist in the first quarter. However, lucky for the fans in attendance, "DJ Roomba" Kennedy has made his debut and hits his first NBA three. Nice to meet you Mr. Kennedy.
Second Quarter: @RealCavsFans
Let's talk about other things we'll hopefully miss next year:
- Veteran leadership
- Anthony Parker at the SF
- Omri Casspi fast breaks
- Everything related to Luke Walton
- 100-50 box scores after three quarters
That said, things are looking good. The Wizards have caught up and taken a 49-45 lead. Fingers crossed!
Third Quarter: @adammcginnis
TANK. SO. HARD. Kyrie hasn't been back. Jamison's out with an ankle injury and the Wizards are up 77-63. BRING ON THE PING PONG BALLS!
Fourth Quarter: @StepienRules
Bowers with the burn! Cavs lose. It's an 11 point drubbing, but who cares, CAVS ARE TIED FOR THE THIRD PICK IN THE LOTTERY! One more loss, that's all I'm asking for and, with Chicago on deck for tomorrow night, things are looking good.
