NBA Rumors: Cavaliers Leaning Towards Harrison Barnes?

Presswire

Hey you guys want another unsubstantiated rumor? You got it.

According to Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick (who actually is a very good writer/reporter), the Cavaliers are very interested in Harrison Barnes from UNC. The Cavs were rumored to have interest in Barnes last year, but he decided to go back to school for his sophomore year. After a relatively disappointing sophomore season, the Cavs may have the opportunity to draft him again. If Amick's sources are accurate, the Cavs will pull the trigger with the fourth pick in this year's draft.

Sources say the Cavaliers are very high on the 20-year-old small forward and appear unlikely to let him slip past them at the No. 4 slot in the June 28 draft. While this week's predraft combine in Chicago (June 6-7), and the team workouts thereafter, could always change things, rival executives are planning for Barnes to be off the board by the time the fifth pick (Sacramento) rolls around.

"He's a pretty big deal to them," one such executive said

The interesting part about this is that it mentions Bradley Beal falling to the Kings and the fifth pick. Everything that I have heard would indicate that if the Cavs had their choice, they would take Beal over Barnes.

As I said, these are all just rumors and nobody has made a decision about who to draft three weeks remaining before the draft. Anyway, I'm here to provide you with what's being said about the Cavaliers.
