Things to watch for the Cavaliers
The Cavaliers moved the ball very well for the most part Friday night against the Pelicans. The San Antonio Spurs are the second best team in regards to points allowed. Whether or not the Cavs will be able to continue improving on offense and look like a cohesive unit against one of the league's most stingy teams will be interesting to watch.
The Cavaliers had a bit of trouble defending the three point line late against New Orleans. If they do this against the Spurs things are going to get out of hand in a hurry. The Spurs move the ball as well as anybody in the league, they make the extra pass and roll out an endless platoon of guys that can shoot from deep.
Who will Mike Brown start at SG and how will his decision affect Dion Waiters? He had a great first half for the Cavs and looked extremely motivated Friday night. It'll be interesting if he continues to make the right decisions on the court, or whether he falls back into some of his old bad habits. Especially if the Spurs stop the Cavs from getting into a rhythm on offense.
Things to watch for the Spurs
The Spurs are 5-0 at home, the Cavs are 1-7 on the road. The Spurs have also won nine straight games. This is probably not the best sign in the world for the Cavs. But hey! They're due for a loss! Right...
Both teams are on the second night of a back to back. In theory, this should be an advantage for the younger Cavaliers. It will be interesting to see if Pop decides to manage the minutes of his starters. But the Spurs are still a force to be reckoned with.
The Cavs shot a season best 53% from the floor last game. The Spurs will try and get this number down and limit the amount of quality looks the Cavs get.
Fear the Sword's fearless prediction
The Spurs are favored by 12 points tonight. I say the Cavs beat the spread.... But lose 94-88.
