In a game where the Cavaliers exposed a lot of the inherent defensive weaknesses the Spurs have, San Antonio downed Cleveland 119-113.
Wayne Ellington had a big game for the Cavs, scoring 21 in his return after missing Friday's game against the Mavericks. Marreese Speights also scored 19 and had 7 rebounds.
Dion Waiters didn't have his best game, but that shows his continued improvement as he shot 6-12 from the field and scored 15 points. When Dion scores 15 points on 12 shots and doesn't play exceedingly well, it means that signs of real progress portend for his future. Tristan Thompson struggled a little bit with Tim Duncan, and ended up going 3-12 from the field with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
For the Spurs, Tim Duncan was ridiculous scoring 30 points with 12 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 assists. Kawhi Leonard also had 24 points and 13 rebounds, showing that a carbon copy of him is exactly what the Cavs need at small forward.
Anyone else have thoughts? Post them in the comments section. Glad to actually be back and writing after a week off.
