The NBA Draft is still several weeks away. We also don't even know where the Cleveland Cavaliers will pick in the lottery. We won't know the order until the NBA Draft Lottery on May 21st (I'll be at the lottery!). But Chad Ford knows his stuff and is worth listening to. On Wednesday, Ford published his Mock Draft 2.0 on ESPN.com. You can check it out here, but here's who Ford has the Cavs taking at #3 and #19 in the first round.
3rd pick overall
The Cavs take Otto Porter out of Georgetown. This is the same as his first version and Ford stays consistent in believing that Porter is the perfect fit for the Cavs. Ford also commented that Porter is supposedly #2 on the Cavs' big board right now. With Nerlens Noel and Ben McLemore going #1 and #2 respectively, the Cavs are free to grab the guy that is both very talented and a great fit.
19th pick overall
Chad Ford has the Cavs taking Steven Adams out of Pittsburgh with the pick they received from the Los Angeles Lakers. Adams is big, young center who probably isn't nearly ready to make significant contributions on an NBA team. But if Anderson Varejao is healthy and the Cavs sign a veteran big man in free agency, Adams could be a risk that the Cavs are willing to take. He's got plenty of upside and is really really tall. That's always fun.
Take this with a grain of salt, of course, but what do you think of Chad Ford's Mock Draft 2.0 for the Cavaliers?
