The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a deal with Jarrett Jack. According to reports, the Cavaliers and Jack agreed to a 4 year deal worth $25 million. Jack instantly fills a need at backup point guard and provides a solid veteran presence in the locker room.

We are yet to get any details about the contract for Jarrett Jack, but at first glance this looks alright. It might be a little much for Jack, but as we have discussed previously, Cleveland sometimes has to overpay for free agents. The Cavaliers also needed to spend more money to reach the salary floor at some point.
UPDATE:
We have learned that the 4th year on the contract is likely a team option. That makes me feel even better about this deal.

Jack spent last season with the Golden State Warriors and was quite good for them. He averaged 12.9 points and 5.6 assists per game while backing up Stephen Curry. He played just under 30 minutes a game and the Warriors were able to play him and Curry at the same time. That bodes well for his ability to play with both Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters.
The Cavaliers needed a backup for Kyrie and they certainly did that. After improving the bench last year, the Cavs have seen Marreese Speights decline a player option and they did not extend a qualifying offer to Wayne Ellington. So far in free agency, Chris Grant has seemed to try to rebuild that bench by signing Earl Clark and now Jarrett Jack.
