Kyrie Irving suffers knee contusion, questionable for game against Orlando Magic

Kyrie Irving hurt his knee, but not nearly as badly as it initially appeared. After a scary fall in Tuesday's loss to the Indiana Pacers, many fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers feared the worst for their superstar point guard. Kyrie underwent an MRI and other tests on Wednesday to determine the severity of his injury. Fortunately, the MRI revealed that Kyrie only suffered a left knee contusion (basically a bruise) and is listed as questionable for Cleveland's game on Thursday against the Orlando Magic.

Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving received an MRI and exam this afternoon regarding the left knee injury he sustained during the second half of yesterday's game in Indianapolis. The exam was conducted at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health by Cavaliers Head Team Physician Dr. Richard Parker. The results of the MRI and exam confirm a left knee contusion. Irving will undergo treatment and continued evaluation. He will be listed as questionable for tomorrow night's game at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland vs. the Orlando Magic. His status will be updated as appropriate.

Kyrie is considered day-to-day and it might be wise for him to sit out tomorrow's game. But Kyrie has publicly stated that playing 82 games is one of his major goals this year. If he has any say in the decision, I'd bet that he plays.
