As if this Cleveland Cavaliers season needed to get stranger, somebody stole Austin Carr's retired jersey from the rafters at Quicken Loans Arena. Yes, you read that sentence correctly.
During the Cavs home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, some people looked up and saw that Austin Carr's #34 jersey was missing. The team confirmed on Wednesday that the jersey was gone and that they were currently trying to track down the culprit.
According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the jersey was last seen sometime before the WWE RAW event at the Q. But by the time the Cavs played the Pelicans on Tuesday night, it was gone.
The organization said Wednesday the number 34 jersey -- hanging since its bearer retired in 1981 -- disappeared sometime between the WWE Raw event Monday and the Cavs' home game against the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday.
The team is looking for the banner and will make a new one before the next Cavs home game.

I have no idea how or why anybody would steal Austin Carr's retired jersey banner, but it's basically the funniest Cavs-related news story this year. My guess is that Carr has become so frustrated with the team's lousy play that he tried to steal his own jersey in order to suit up and show these young bloods how it's done.
