Today after practice, Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt told the media in attendance that guard Dion Waiters practiced today and is probable for Friday's game against the Boston Celtics. Waiters missed Monday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to back contusion. Waiters suffered the contusion last Friday against the Denver Nuggets when he was flagrantly fouled by Nuggets forward Darrell Arhur. Upon review, Arthur was ejected and suspended one game for committing a flagrant 2 foul.
"He's probable (for Friday)," Blatt said. "We'll see how his body responds after the work he did today. We're hoping he can get out there and play."
So far this season, Waiters is averaging 9.4 points per game. Although he is only shooting 35.4 percent so far this season, he is coming off his best game of the season. Against the Nuggets, Waiters scored 17 points and had two steals in 24 minutes off the bench.
