Kevin Love shoots down rumor leaving Cavs for Los Angeles Lakers

Addressing reporters in Boston, Love says he isn't interested in L.A., loves twisting his mustache.

You didn't read about it here, because it wasn't worth the time or recognition, but a rumor popped up last week that Kevin Love was considering playing for the Lakers next season. This came from the staff writer for the Chicago Bulls and was widely panned. No, I will not do it the service of linking it.

Among those dismissing it? Kevin Love. Also responding to that handshake thing you may have heard about, Love dismissed both:

"Whatever we were doing with our hands was about as true as me going to the Lakers...Going to the Lakers, I don’t know where someone got that."

Now maybe you're wondering, "DOES THAT MEAN HE IS GOING TO LA THEN?" Well, no, Love furthered clarified that they were not smoking imaginary joints:

"I don’t know why it was so hard for people to realize we were actually curling our mustache. I guess because I had my fingers in the wrong place...but looking at the tape, film don’t lie. It does look like we’re doing something bad, but that’s not the case."

Not that there was much to it anyway. Love can make a whole whole whole lot more money in Cleveland, where he will have bird rights, pay less in income tax, and have endorsements that benefit from the attention garnered when playing alongside LeBron James. That's before you even get to the tire fire that is the Lakers roster, their 2016 cap space non-withstanding.
