Corey Brewer and Kevin Love had a lot of chemistry last season, and if you have watched any of the Love outlet pass videos, you will remember seeing Brewer streaking out on the end of a lot of those passes. They could be recreating some of that in Cleveland:
Story posting now: ESPN sources say Wolves in active trade discussions on veteran swingman Corey Brewer with contenders Cavs and Rockets
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) November 16, 2014
Brewer, a 6'9" wing player, makes $4.75 million, and would most likely be obtained via the Cavs' trade exception that they got earlier this season, which is worth $5.3 million. The Cavs are short on lengthy athletes, and while Brewer has been pretty dismal as a shooter thus far this season, his length and defensive acumen at the two and three would be welcome in the fight to reduce the minutes logged by Shawn Marion and LeBron James. It would also give the Cavs a little more size in lineups that feature Marion and James at the forward positions.
This season the 28-year-old Brewer has averaged 9.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting 47 percent from the field and 20 percent from three.
