The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Shane Edwards to a 10-day contract. In order to make that move, they had to cut Arinze Onuaku's 2nd 10-day contract short. This is clearly a very big move because Shane Edwards is fantastic. He's by far the best Shane on the Cavs roster. He's also the best Edwards on the Cavs roster. Other than that, I know nothing about him.
Not surprisingly, we don't have any photos of Shane Edwards. So I used a picture of a basketball instead.
Here's some information from the Cavs official release about the signing of Edwards.
Edwards has appeared in 40 games (32 starts) for the Charge this season, averaging 13.3 points on .547 shooting and 5.5 rebounds in 28.2 minutes per game. The 6-7, 220-pound forward has scored 15 or more points 15 times on the season, including in 9 of his last 11 games, and has two double-doubles for the year.
The Cavs needed another forward once they found out Anthony Bennett would be out for 3 weeks with a knee injury. Edwards is available tonight against the Phoenix Suns and will wear #24.
Who is Shane Edwards? I guess we're just going to have to wait and find out.
