Cavaliers to host free draft night party at Quicken Loans Arena

New, comments

The Cavs are hosting an awesome draft party at the Q. We have the details.

Draft night is going to be pretty crazy. The Cleveland Cavaliers have the first overall pick. There are a bunch of ways you can spend your Thursday night. One is right here. You can enjoy the comfort of your home and hang out on Fear the Sword. We will have immediate analysis or the Cavaliers' pick first overall, or trade, or whatever. The open thread will be a place to discuss what the Cavs have done and what's going on all over the NBA.

If you live in Cleveland, though, and want to get adventurous, the Cavaliers themselves are hosting what looks like it will be a pretty awesome party. The gates open at 6:00 and the admission is free.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy festivities including live music from local band Skinny Moo, an interactive Fan Zone, $1 hot dogs and sodas, and more, for an evening of fun for the entire family! The Cavalier Girls, Scream Team and mascots Moondog and Sir C.C. will keep the party going all night!

The team has all kinds of activities planned including free throws on the court, autograph sessions, and Cavs face paint opportunities. I'm not at the stage of my life where I'm trying to indoctrinate my kids with Cavalier sympathies, but were I, this would be an excellent activity. If there are several Fear the Sword commenters that are preparing to go, you can use this space as a way to potentially plan on meeting up.
