The Cleveland Cavaliers are just a few hours from being on the clock with the first overall selection in tonight's NBA Draft. The rumors of what they might do with the pick continue to heat up.
It is believed if they keep the pick the choice is between Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins. They aren't the only teams that want these players, though, and the Philadelphia 76ers might be willing to give up a bunch to get Wiggins.
Re: Reports that Cavs are asking for 3, 10 & 32 from Sixers for No. 1. If Sixers tanked all year for Wiggins, they have to say yes, right?— Chad Ford (@chadfordinsider) June 26, 2014
The Cavaliers are apparently asking for multiple picks to move down two spots. I must say I don't necessarily understand this move. Cleveland is already very, very young. Adding three more picks doesn't make sense unless they plan on making another move or two or drafting an international player they can keep overseas for awhile.
It's good that the Cavaliers are keeping their options open, but as we get closer to the draft, I find myself being more and more interested in simply utilizing the pick. Trust your scouts, take the best player.
We will see what actually goes down.
