With their second pick of the night and the 33rd overall, the Cleveland Cavaliers have selected Joe Harris from the University of Virginia.
After taking Andrew Wiggins with the first overall pick in the draft, the Cavs felt as though they were able to select another wing in Harris. He's a very good shooter and is strong enough to run through screens on defense. There's no guarantee that he contributes right away, but he can shoot the ball and spent four very good years at Virginia.
During his senior year at Virginia, Harris averaged 12.0 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 28.8 minutes per game. He also shot 40.0% on three-pointers. He's listed at 6'6" and 215 pounds and clearly fits the mold of player that David Griffin wants. He's experienced, has a high basketball IQ, and can stretch the floor.
