Reports: Details of Kevin Love, Andrew Wiggins deal come into focus on eve of trade

Andrew Wiggins is eligible to be traded at midnight tonight. Here's what we know about what might happen.

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sport

At 12:01 am ET tonight, Andrew Wiggins, the first overall pick in what is expected to be a historically good draft, is eligible to be traded. Most years, no one would even realize the 30 day restriction has to come to pass.

Most years, a player like Kevin Love isn't available for pairing with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. And so we have waited for Andrew Wiggins to become eligible to be traded. It's been hard for the fans, and it's been hard for the players who might end up being part of the deal. All of that can come to an end tonight. Will the trade be announced at 12:01? I doubt it. Will it be sometime tomorrow? I'd guess yes, but we can't be totally sure.

So what do we expect the deal to actually look like? Well, it appears that the Philadelphia 76ers have hopped into the fold as well, though not in the way that we had originally thought. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

he Minnesota Timberwolves will acquire Philadelphia 76ers forward Thaddeus Young for a 2015 first-round draft pick and two role players, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Timberwolves will send Philadelphia the Miami Heat's 2015 first-round pick Minnesota will acquire as part of the Kevin Love deal with Cleveland, sources said. The T-Wolves will send forward Luc Mbah a Moute and guard Alexey Shved to the Sixers.

So to recap what we think we know of the deal:

The Cleveland Cavaliers receive: Kevin Love, from Minnesota

The Minnesota Timberwolves receive: Anthony Bennett, Andrew Wiggins, the Miami Heat's protected 2015 first round pick, from Cleveland.

The Timberwolves will then flip that pick in the Thad Young deal.

It seems as if most of the community here has come around on the idea of this deal, even if there were loud protests before it was reported. We don't really know what Cleveland's leverage, or Minnesota's leverage was. It's clear the Cavaliers were interested in getting Kevin Love in for a full camp and giving him as much time to get used to his surroundings as possible. A midseason trade might not put the Cavaliers in the best chance to contend for a title this year.

I think this is a great deal for the team. Of course I would have liked to give up less, but then again, when you are acquiring one of the best power forwards in the game and can pair him with two other stars, one of which is LeBron, I think you have to do it.

We will let you know when it's all official.
