Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, so we don't know yet if he has a guarantee or if this is mostly just another body for training camp. The Cavs front court is currently made up of Kevin Love, Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Alex Kirk, Brendan Haywood, and Dwight Powell, so there could be an opportunity for him to earn some minutes at the 4.
Amundson is a 6'9 225 pound forward from UNLV. from 2008 to 2010 he was a valuable rotation big in Phoenix (with Cavaliers GM David Griffin), but since then he has struggled a bit to find consistency in the league.
Last year he averaged 2.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game in 19 games with the Bulls and Pelicans.
