The Cleveland Cavaliers have had extraordinarily bad luck so far this season when it comes to injury luck, and the news isn't getting any better in the new year. LeBron James will miss at least two weeks with a strained left knee and lower back.
LeBron had missed the last two games with a sore knee. But an MRI revealed that he had suffered a pair of strains and will require rest in order to heal.
The timing could be better, as the Cavs are going on a brutal five game road trip that will see them take on the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns and Los Angles Clippers. So... the Cavs could be in for a tough stretch.
Obviously this injury would be more manageable if the Cavs weren't missing Shawn Marion, Kevin Love and Anderson Varejao. The most important thing for the Cavs is to make sure that any injuries are handled properly so that they can have as many healthy bodies as possible for the playoffs. But this clearly sucks.
