The Cleveland Cavaliers are removing all likenesses and merchandise related to Tristan Thompson from Quicken Loans Arena – a requirement from the NBA for players who officially become free agents.

And it's not just the home arena that's been stripped of TTness. They've also digitally wiped the existence of Thompson from their online team store.
This all aligns with the concept that you need to be under contract and on a team's roster for them to promote you.
