Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love may not be playing tonight vs. the Atlanta Hawks in Cincinnati - both he and Kyrie Irving are in Cleveland continuing to rehab - but on Saturday, he will be able to practice for the first time this season.
In Cincinnati, Cavs coach David Blatt said that Love would practice Saturday after starting training camp only able to participate non-contact injuries and on Monday was cleared for to participate in 3 vs. 3 drills.
"He's coming along real nice," Blatt said.
This does mean that Love might be able to play next Monday when the Cavs play the Memphis Grizzlies in Columbus. It also almost certainly means that Love will be ready for opening night, which Blatt said on Monday would be 'fair and realistic'.
Forward James Jones will start in Love's place vs. the Hawks and will likely do so again tomorrow night when the Cavs take on the Philadelphia 76ers. Mo Williams will start in place of Irving at point guard.
