If LeBron James has his way, Tristan Thompson will be a Cleveland Cavalier for a long time.
Speaking with the media today, LeBron had spoke on Thompson's impending restricted free agency and said that Thompson should be in Cleveland long term.
LeBron takes a stance on Tristan Thompson's impending free agency: "Tristan's a guy who should probably be a Cavalier his entire career"

This shouldn't come as much of a shock. Thompson is a player the Cavs should keep around - he's become invaluable to the Cavs this year - and the Cavs can match any offer he receives in restricted free agency. LeBron and Thompson also share the same agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group.
How much Thompson will cost is really the only question left to be answered. Thompson reportedly turned down a four-year deal with $52 million earlier this season and he figures to command a max contract - or close to it - this summer.
In the playoffs, Thompson is averaging 8.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while playing 34.6 minutes a night.
