Warriors announce Klay Thompson has concussion

The Wariors shooting guard will enter the league's concussion program

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors announced on Friday that Klay Thompson has been diagnosed with a concussion, and will not participate in basketball activities until he is cleared per the NBA concussion protocol guidelines.

Concussions are both serious and unpredictable. You hope that the symptoms are not severe and he can get back to normal as soon as possible. Injuries such as this go beyond basketball, but you also want both teams to be as healthy as possible for the NBA's ultimate test, the NBA Finals.

Thompson is one of the NBA's best young players, a sweet shooting guard that has the length to guard multiple positions. He makes up one half of the Warriors' Splash Brothers with league MVP Steph Curry. There is no timetable on his return, but he does have some time before Game 1 on Thursday night. It might also help that the Warriors get to stay at home and he won't need to make a cross-country flight. But really, I'm not a doctor so I have no idea.

Get better Klay.
