Report: Cavs "tentatively" scheduled for Christmas day tilt with Golden State Warriors

The Cavs may get a Finals rematch on Christmas day

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Christmas is great for a lot of reasons, but relaxing with family and turning on some good basketball is one of my favorite parts. Last season saw the Cleveland Cavaliers return to action on the NBA's showcase day. It wasn't really very much fun, and it wouldn't really qualify as relaxing. The Cavs were struggling, and it showed in a loss to the Miami Heat. It would be a long three weeks before the Cavs really started to turn things around.

It seems likely that the Cavs will be in a bit better shape coming Christmas this year. If Marc Stein's new report is to be believed, they better be:

This really wouldn't be surprising if it ended up being legitimate. The Cavs and Warriors had huge ratings in the NBA Finals, and a rematch on the league's biggest regular season day would likely be a huge success. These games are great when your team is clicking because you can measure yourself without it being all-important. I'm sure Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love would be motivated to show what they can do against the Warriors.

Is there a team you'd rather play? I think this would be fun.
