Howard Bryant at ESPN.com has a great article posted that talks about how LeBron James is "the signature socially conscious athlete of his time" and how that aspect of LBJ trumps any and everything that Michael Jordan has ever done. I highly recommend you go check it out – LeBron's list of deeds is very impressive, especially the $41 million he just pledged to send Akron kids to college.
This final line of the article really sums it up beautifully:
Every day of his career has existed under the shadow of Jordan, but as citizen, LeBron does not look up to Michael. It should be the other way around.
