Kevin Love was seen at the Ralph Lauren runway show last week, front and center, no less. While in attendance, Vogue magazine caught up with Love and we got a little peek into his personal taste as a fashion admirer. Turns out that Kevin is a big fan of the days of yore.
Love's penchant for all things Americana comes from a preoccupation he shares with Lauren, actually: film. "Old-school movies are what I'm drawn to—Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, and Alfred Hitchcock. With Ralph Lauren, it's almost like you can be whoever you want to be through his brand," said Love, showing off the natty tie bar on his dotted tie. "It's like a movie—it's whatever movie you want to make it. I think of The Sting with Robert Redford and Paul Newman: They're classic gentlemen." And in his trim double-breasted suit punctuated with little accents like a striped spread-collar shirt and polka-dot tie, Love doesn't look so shabby, either. "I like the old throwback style—I'm not thinking it's 1930s Chicago, but I enjoy wearing suits," noted Love, and luckily he wears them well. "There's a confidence and self-awareness you get in a suit that has taken a lot to make and handcraft and was made to fit you."
I feel like some new endorsement deals might be around the corner.
Kevin would have fit right in back in the 1920's.
