Former Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas is now the tallest, most famous volunteer basketball coach in Cleveland.
According to Matt Goul of the Northeast Ohio Media Group, 'Big Z' will be helping out at St. Ignatius High School, a private, all-boys Catholic high school in Cleveland, two or three times at week. He will not, however, sit on the bench during games. Ilgauskas' involvement with the program stems from his friendship with Brian Becker, St. Ignatius' first year head coach.
"He'll be more working with the kids, which is fantastic," St. Ignatius athletic director Rory Fitzpatrick told the NEOMG. "Anybody who is 7-3 and walks into the gym commands your attention."
Ilgauskas, who had his No. 11 jersey retired by the Cavs last year, works for the Cavs as a talent evaluator.
